When this 4-day gravel option was introduced in 2022, it was an instant hit. The following year riders came from across North America to experience the expertly crafted routes through rural Georgia. Courses feature dirt and gravel roads that start in Athens and take riders through the Georgia red clay southward to the sugar sand terrain that leads to the coast and Historic Downtown Savannah.
We are grateful for the support and insight of Georgia Hi-Lo Trail communities and partners that help make this ride possible.

Course Notes
Routes average 70% dirt and are connected by around 30% paved roads.
The routes shown in our Ride with GPS maps show some gravel roads as paved. We have noticed the app does not always recognize the difference in terrain, and we continue working to make modifications.
Course-planning for a multi-day event involves work with multiple agencies to secure the necessary permits. The process of identifying routes, planning courses and acquiring permits takes time and requires coordination with several agencies and landowners. All information here will be tentative until all permits are in place.
