Gravel Stage 1: Athens to White Plains

Day 1: Athens to Tennillepresented by Burgess Pigment Company

3 Day GravelStage 1 rolls out of Athens on the Firefly Trail before reaching Winterville, Arnoldsville, Stephens, Maxeys, Union Point, and Sparta, before reaching the stage finish at Lundy Creek Lodge in White Plains.

Thursday's terrain will be mostly gravel with some paved trail and paved road sections. The first 3 miles will lead riders out on the Firefly Trail, a  road-separated concrete trail before transitioning to 15 miles of asphalt roads before reaching gravel at mile 18. Cyclists will experience a mix of hard compacted dirt roads to some loose gravel dirt roads. The route crosses a stream, but most cyclists manage to stay dry with no problems!
